The Churchill War Rooms

In a bunker underneath the Treasury lies a secret network of offices and twisting corridors designed to hold the country's topmost secrets during the Second World War- the Churchill War Rooms. It was in operation 24 hours a day all through the war, and then the day after Japan surrendered, the staff simply picked up their briefcases, turned the lights off, and left- and it is all still down there. We'll be visiting a perfectly-preserved WWII bunker, finding out about the staff who directed the war there, and visiting the museum dedicated to Britain's wartime Prime Minister, Winston Churchill.

Where does it take place?

This tour takes place within the Churchill War Rooms.

How much does it cost?

My standard rate for a single tour is £275 for the group, or we can chain two tours together in a day for £420, and I'll find you somewhere nice for lunch in between. This doesn't include entry for yourselves to the Churchill War Rooms, which I recommend you book online in advance (you don't have to book a ticket for me). You may also wish to familiarise yourself with my cancellation policy.

How much walking is there?

As the route takes place entirely within the bunker, we will not be walking far, but there are not many opportunities to sit down on this tour.

How long does it take?

This tour lasts about 2 hours.

Is this tour wheelchair-accessible?

This tour is wheelchair-accessible, although some corners in the bunker can be quite tight, depending on the size of your wheelchair. You can find more information on the accessibility of the bunker here.

How many people can fit on this tour?
